Best pump for sump return for a 10 gal tank

I'm getting ready to build my DIY overflow and Sump, and was wondering which return pump would be the best to purchase? The tank is 10 gal, and the sump will be around 10 gal. The water will have to flow from the bottom of the sump on the floor to the tank on a normal sized desk. I've got a few pumps in mind, but wanted to check with the experts before making the purchase.

1. Which is the best bet?
2. Which do I want to avoid?
Thanks!

You really only need a very tiny one for a system that size. Keep in mind that every foot of height the water has to travel reduces the gph. I'm not sure what to recommend: all my returns are mags, and I don't know if there is one low enough for this application. I'd actually sort of like to know, because I need a good super cheap pump just to move water in and out of containers, if possible.

I have found a little 80 gph pump, but it states that the "max head" is 2 ft. Does anyone know what "max head" means? I'm hoping it doesn't mean the maximum height it is designed to push water.
I also have a Cacade300 internal filter in this 10 gal tank. This baby creates a heck of a current. I'm half thinking I can somehow affix a return line from this if I place it into the sump. It is NOT designed apparently to be used in this manner, but nothing bad ever happens when you use items for application for which they weren't designed, right?

Unfortunately I think it does, at least at a decent proportion of its gph. Many pumps will actually list the gph they can put out at various heights.
