Best way to frag stars?

I have a large rock with zoos and star polyps. I'd like to frag off the star polyps and move to a better spot in the tank where they are more visable.

If you are talking about green star polyps then they are (for lack of a better word) on a skin on the rock. You should be able to cut and peel them off the rock and glue them to anther rock. Or you could use a chisel and hammer to break the rock and separate the zoos and polyps that way.

the easiest way is to break a chunk of the rock off. or you can peel back a section of the mat (the purple undergrowth) lift the edge of it with a butter knife and slowly scrape/pull back peeling off as big a piecs as you want, it tends to break easy so it may take a bunch of small pieces to get as much as you want, then dry the rock you want to glue it to with paper towel, and dry the back of the star polyp too. put super glue gel on the rock where you want the polyp to be and gently press it into the glue once your piece/pieces are attached give it 30 seconds to a minute to dry, then place back in the tank. (I reccomend wearing rubber gloves while doing this so you dont accidently glue your finger to the rock while pressing in frags. Ive done it, its no fun)

Well, I tried to peel back the purple mat but I got frustrated. So I went with the hammer meathod suggested by reefkeeper

I believe it was Scotts that first made mention of the hammer so due credit sould go to him, I only agreed and offered more explination on the glueing part that he also mentioned. :cheer: go SCOTTS go! :cheer:

This gives me Ideas... I think I am going to glue a little piece to my glass with my return pump off I can drop the water level a bit and dry the glass for glueing. I wonder how fast it will sread on glass? not only that but if I get sick of it it'll peel easy with a razor........ hmm. I think I'll do this on my fragging thread tommorow, I cant do it today just gave the dogs a bath and have flea shampoo on me.
