I just read a thread about "Things that come out only at night". What is the best way to observe at night. I have heard that red light works. Does it ? If you use a regular flashlight, does everything head back for cover ?
Sounds like a lot of fun. I have a feeling that I may have a hard time getting up in the morning.
Please let me hear from you experienced night watchers.
This is a blast !!!

I used a regular flashlight, but I had it cupped in my hand so I could control the amount of light getting out. With a little practice you can watch all the different life without bothering them!

Hi,
Get yourself a red flashlight, or a red cover for a white one. The inhabitants can't "see" red and will not swim for cover.
happy night diving!

I use a regular flashlight with a red lens cover. Just using white light chases most night critters back to the rocks.
