Black spots?? Hypo only treats white spot disease. What exactly are you trying to treat?
Have any pics of the infected fish?

Well i made an order on SWF and i got a sohal tang and he looked great when i first put him in the 30g qt but a little while later i looked him over and he has little grayish speckles like the color of his stripes but in the tan areas too i dont know what it is i was just doing hypo because it was a new fish, what other medications should i do, i have cupramine copper stuff and paraguard, what do i do im frekin out and there are quite a few more now than when i got him on friday last week, my lfs told me that i should put some cleaner shrimp in with him but cleaners dont always get right to cleaning as soon as you put them in, right. I also have some medicine called like marycon or something it says it treats true fungus and bacterial diseases (don't know the exact name not at my house). Please give me the answer, haha. Also should i raise my salinity, i have a blenny in with him should i wait to put him in my main tank until the sohal is fully recovered and well.
thanks beth,
kyle

So, are the specs dark but still look like grains of salt, but dark instead of white? How is the fish acting? Is he eating, scratching, beathing heavy, etc?
You can continue with the hypo. Don't raise the salinity until you complete the process.

well for the first 4 days (until yesterday) he was swimming everywhere up and down back and forth. Today he is kind of being a little more shy and mainly swimming closer to the bottom but still quick just like hes looking for food but he is still eat like a monster and not scratching or breathing hard. Could it be just from stress. There is one place that is a little bit bigger than the other spots but not much, the med. i have is Saltwater MarOxy for true fungus and bacterial infections the LFS said it might be bacterial infection but they usually feed ya full of it (or they just dont know what they are talking about). The spots are small dark spots not really white (kinda depending on the way the light hits them). Whats the deal. Is he in trouble or is there hope, :( .
Thanks again,
kyle

Yeah, I understand.....please give more specific details about what you are seeing. Is it spots like ich that look like salt sprinkled on fish only dark or black in color???
Can you get a pic of the fish with the problem?
