Beth I need your Advice

My Majestic Angle has nipped my Marine Beta's tail almost completely off. I have isolated the Beta in an enclosure 12"x18"x10 " in the main tank made of plexi drilled with 7/8" holes every 1 1/2 inches for good water flow on all sides. I have live rock for the beta to hide in and he seems well adjusted but I cant get him to eat. He swims well and is about as active as normal, but I am worried. What can I do to get him to eat and how can i treat the injury to his tail?

I think I did my homework. These fish are in a 450 gallon tank with 400 lbs of live rock and plenty of hiding places. Angels are not normally agressive towards others out side their own species or others that have their own shape. neither is the case here. they have been together without incident since december. only over the last few days have I seen this behavior and it is only during feeding. so I think your comments are unfair, sometimes when you put any two fish together there can be unexpected problems, and it's not like I put these fish in a 30 galon tank and expected miricles.

Angels can be aggressive with anyone, but generally you do read about the criteria you mention when considering placing them in tanks. More resently published materials however, won't even list most angels as being reef safe.
I"m sure the fish is "hurting" so to speak and disoriented with the new limitations to his tank. Have you tried direct feedings? Use a turkey baster to offer up foods right in front of him.
Keep an eye on that tail to make sure it does not develop an infection.
You have a pic of that tank?

the only one worth going to is Atlantis on atlantic and hodges (in the shopping center next to ace hardware, but they are expensive. stay away from aqua zoo, they are terriblesick fish red and green slime alge in the tanks it is bad. they have good dry good prices but that is about it. there is one LFS on main st downtown but I haven't been there yet, and the only other place I have visited is on normandy and cassett in the wii dixie shopping center. they seem to be ok.

Atlantis (the one next to ace) and aqua zoo are the only ones I've been to. They both have big down sides. I don't care for the people at atlantis; for the most part, and aqua zoo will sell you things you don't need, and for the most part, their live stock doesn't look very good... Where is this LFS downtown? I'd like to check it out.
