Beth is this ick?

I was told this was columnaris. Is it ich or columnaris? It's to hard for me to distinguish. My cure tank is 38 gallons, I have a clown trigger in it now. Do I need a divider or will be okay to put the 2 fish together? They are both 4".
This seems to be a recurring disease. Is there a permanent cure?

It looks like ICH to me. Are you seeing those spots on other parts of the body? Seems like I can see some around the fish's eye.
