Bicolor Blenny

I finally got a Bicolor Blenny. Drip acclimated for at least 90 minutes before putting him in my DT with the lights off. After a few hours, lights came on and he seems to be making himself right at home. He's out and has plenty of places to hide. My question is about feeding. Up until now I have fed my DT twice a day ( I have 2 clowns, a few hermits, various snails and 2 Emeralds along with some corals) I use frozen H2O Marine fish & reef, and Omega 1 with garlic flake and put algae sheets in about once a week. Is that enough for the Blenny or do I need to add something else. I've read that they are basically herbivores and was wondering if I should add some type of algae flake, pellet or wafers. Could use some advice and tips. Thanks and Merry Christmas All.

I have a bi colored blennie - great little fish, mine eats mysis, cyclops, and he picks away on the algae all day. probably one of my favorite fish I have. You should be fine with what you are feeding the rest of your fish, I only feed once a day and I over feed (I think) my algae scrubber helps out with that and the corals appreciate it. Good luck - hey you don't QT your fish.

Thanks, I was hoping I was feeding okay but you did bust me on the QT. I had a 10 gal set up for QT & a 6 gal with sand and live rock in it and some snails and just this past weekend I broke the 6 gal down and put all the live rock and sand in the 10 gal thinking I wasn't going to add anymore fish to my DT and would make the 10 gal a try at SPS corals once it settled down again. Well I went to the LFS to buy more rock for the 10 gal and they are closing their doors for good come the end of the year. They were selling everything, fish, corals, supplies at ridiculously low prices and I ended up buying a bunch of maintenance supplies, food, plus some live rock and bringing home the Blenny. He looked very good no spots or marks or anything like that on him, he ate at the store and I took a chance. Hopefully I won't regret it. Right before lights went out at 10:30 last night, he was already looking pretty settled and happy. I won't be adding anymore fish.

Just an update. Appears all is going well with the Blenny. It's swimming around when the notion strikes it and has found lots of hiding places in the LR. I keep trying to get a picture but he's quick. He's even swimming around with the clowns on occasion and they don't seem to mind a bit. Not noticing any spots or anything on him and he's eating. I'm feeling pretty good about it all and I'm content with my DT. I'll post some updated pictures soon.

Good news bugsman, it is pretty cool the hiding places they find. My blennie has to go tail first into its favorite hiding place.

I have a bi color as well, great little fish, he swims with my clowns and cardinal all the time. I turn my power heads off to feed and he is right in there cleaning. I have to look for him before I turn them back on, the bugger worries me....
