Big and small maroon coming from different tanks

I am moving my small maroon clown from the DT to QT. I was just given a big Gold Maroon (about 3 times the size). This will also go into QT. The QT will last for 4 weeks.
I have (2) QTs.
My options:
1)place them in separate QT and bring them together in the DT.
2)Place the bigger one in a critter box. Place this box inside the same QT as the smaller one.
3)Place the smaller one in a critter box. Place this box inside the same QT as the bigger one.
Thanks for your input.

I would keep them in seperate QT tanks and the in a few weeks put them in the DT at the same time .

Maroons are very territorial and need to be put in a different tank so it doesn`t feel like the new fish is invading it`s territory .

But sooner or later, both will be in the same DT.

Yes , when you put them in your DT at the same time there is no territory for one to defend as they have been in seperate tanks and claimed territory in those tanks , your DT will be new territory to both .
