Hi all
I was at my LFS today and thay got in new EQ. one of the sumps thay got was a marianland bio sump with a pre filter then dumpt on to a huge bio wheel i was wondering if this would be better than a sump with bio balls. The sump i am useing now is a 4 chamber sump (homemade):D were as i have 2 down pipes one from eace end of the tank that go to 2 drip plate's with prefilter pad's and under is about 6" of bio balls than the water gos into the next chamber where i have my heaters and skimer than go into the forth chamber where the return pumps are. This bio wheel has a prefilter a huge bio wheel and a lager area where i guess all the eq gose its about 330 bucks think i sould make the change or stick with what i got??????

The biowheel and the bio balls pretty much perform the same task.
I would stick with what you have now.

I would make the change to the Marineland unit, but that it just my opinion. My retail MaRS units have the same setup, just a bit larger, of course, and they are fantastic. You can also buy the bio-wheels precultured and there is no cycling time as it already houses the bacteria colonies when shipped submerged. Very good units.
