Big difference b/w coralife 265w PCs and 150HQI with PCs?

I currently have the 48in Coralife PC 265 watts on my 55 reef and everything has been thriving so far. I have a chance to buy a used 48in Coralife 150 HQI with PC light. Will I see a big difference with the HQI setup over my current PCs?

I mean, night and day really....
MH dominates over PC in almost every aspect. Plus it looks way better.

You will see a huge difference! I started out with PCs, them went to T5HOs and thought that was a huge difference (corals grew bigger/faster, colors were more vibrant). Now with metal halides, everything looks evenz better, even the colors on my fish look better. I highly recommend upgrading if you have the opportunity.
Just make sure you know hold old the HQI bulb is. They're only good for about 1 year. I bought mine used with 10 month old 10K bulbs and used them to acclimate everything to MHs and then swapped to knew 14K bulbs.
Good luck!

I have a chance to purchase a used 48" Coralife PRO 150x2 MH HQI with Actintics. However the MH bulbs only have about 4 months left, the pc about 9 months. This person is asking $500 for the setup. Is this worth it? The MH replacement bulbs are like 60 buck a piece. What do you think?

That's a little high. I bought the same light, only the 72" model with three 150w HQIs for $275-. The light was a year old and the guy had the receipts to prove it.
I see your fromNJ, how far from NYC? Have you ever been on Manhattan reefs?

BTLreef I have never been there, I'm located in the southern end of the state, but i did just find a really nice store in PA. Just picked up a small dersa calm and a beautiful yellow fiji leather. My tank has been doing so well since Jan with the coralife pc lights, but I think its time to upgrade. If i can get the HQI setup for a good deal, i'm going for it.

It isn't a store it is a local reef forum foe the tri state area. I got my mhs from someone on there. You should take a look. They also have a great listing of local fish stores and reviews. If you get a good deal definitely upgrade, you will be amazed at the difference.
Good luck

I just put a MH 250 watt on my 54 gallon corner tank and my wife came home and said she can see it from the street! It looks like the Griswolds house in christmas vacation
