big difference between 9watt-13w pc?

is there really any difference between a 9watt pc and a 13watt pc. is the 13 really that muc brighter?

The 13 watt lamps are longer than the 9 watt lamps, not necessarily brighter, just more light-producing area.

Yup 9's exist but are pretty rare. I have a pair for red lights, aka night viewing.

they are for a six gallon tank- i needed to replace one bulb. so i just went with a 9watt other one is a 13watt. lights were way over due and coralline was still growing like made. thanks

Ummm...You need to use a bulb that matches the output of the transformer that comes with the unit...
Or you'll be overdriving the bulb (short life) or underdriving it (less light)...
