Big Help Needed

I've just started my reef tank with couple of anemones. I just noticed this morning that my water salt gravity gettign low. From maintained 1.023 to flat 1.025. What should i do? and pls explain how it'd happened? Ur kind assistance is very much appreciated. Thanks!:confused:

As stated... nothing wrong with that specific gravity. Even if it were reversed, you wouldn't be in deep trouble. :thinking:

yeah i agree with bigarn. if it is at 1.023, then slowly raise it up with a couple water changes. if it went up, then it was probably from evaporation

do a water change with a higher salinity level. or take some of your water out, mix more salt, and put it back in

you mean like table salt? NO you use salt specialy made for saltwater aquariums. instant ocean is a good brand. have you been using table salt for your tank?

I've used table salt last year on curing my LR's but not here in my tank. Im planning to add more LR. Is it okay to use table salt again for curing? Ei thank you jacknjill for ur very kind assistance.
BTW, what is the name of that salt u've mentioned? specially use for aquarium?

some salt brands are - Instant Ocean, Red Sea, Oceanic , Reef Crystals(?)

i would use the salt specially made for fish. i personally, like Instant Ocean the best because it dissolves very well.

Never use Iodized salt, use the synthentic sea salt only.
I also think you guys are missing a possiblility with the salinity going from 1.023 to 1.025 - heat, I suspect you may have had a temp change, or it is flucuating, better check day and night salinity.
Also how are you checking salinity? hydrometer or refractometer?
