Big mantis

Anyone else ever meet up with one this big. Inmy estimation it was around 7 inches give or take a little. My uncle dug up the pic to post in an old thread so I thought I would post it here and see what everone said. I snagged this one under a bridge down in Fort Pierce area a couple years back.

When I finally got it off the hook we just kicked it back in the water. Had I known so many people wanted them might have thrown it in a bucket to take to LFS. However at that size I don't imagine you would want to throw him in a glass tank. Would be neat to watch him do his thing though.

Wow Lisa,
that is cool. What did you do with him I noticed you said had. I think it would be enat to keep it but I don't have time for a second habitat.

We kept him in a 20 gallon tank by himself. Sad to say he died. We bought him from a pet store, when we got him he had just been turned in for credit, whom ever had him, had him for a few years but was moving. My hubby had wanted one forever and this was the first one we found. We we're looking for another one, but when we get one I want a baby this time. Lisa
