Big question on lighting??

I just bought a set of new lights and I really need some opinions on the bulbs. Should I get 10k or 14k. They are 250 watt HQI. I have 20k now for 150HQI but I really want SPS Growth and I am not sure if I made a mistake or not by getting the 10k. :help: :notsure:

If you plan on supplementing with actinic then id go with the 10k. If not then go with the 14k bulbs. Thats what i have and the color is great. Will give you better PAR than 20k bulbs and less blue color. Then again if you want growth, 10k is the way to go. But keep in mind 10k bulbs are more on the yellow side.

Drew thanks for the quick reply. Yea they are the Aquamedic MH/T5 combos 36in 2x 250watt 10k with the 2xT-5 39w blues. I am just really nervous...I want the SPS growth more than anything and I do not get that with the 20k and my water is near perfect. Do you think this would be ok??? The bulbs are AB

If its growth you want the 10k will give you better growth. You have t-5 actinic supplementation so IMO its should look nice. I went 14k but i kinda wish i got 10k with actinic supplements. My fixture is very intense for 150w hqi.

I really like the 20k look. My tank looks very beautiful...just the corals are having a hard time growing so I went bigger.
