Big Tanks

I currently just started saltwater and I love it. I have a 65 gal tank. I see some people here with 200-300 gal tanks. I don't have any lfs that carry anything that big. I would love to get a tank that big once I get some experience. Question I have is where do you buy these and what can you expect to pay. Just curious also post pics if you have a large tank.

First decide if you want acrylic or glass. Either way, you will probably have to get it online. I have a 280 starphire glass from glasscages. Tank cost itself is not that bad, but to avoid extreme shipping costs, I waited until they had a show nearby and just picked it up from their truck at the show.

You could also post a "WTB" thread in the Classifieds section to see if anyone here is selling the tank you want. I did that and found exactly what I was looking for at a great price, and although it was 2 hrs away, it was well worth the savings from getting it used.

Not exactly sure where to get a tank that big but you could always build it yourself if you have a descent table saw and some acrylic glass. It might be a little cheaper than buying a new tank itself.

I had mine custom made... This alone was worth the price just being able to design your own system and put your knowledge and experience (and blood) into the tank as its being built is AMAZING,,
the guy(company) that made mine does very very large tanks for a living (acrylic)

its a 72x36x24 3/4" acrylic around
no-flex front panel
starboard base
2.5" tube steel frame
48x30x20 sump
