As lefty pointed out, that is a pic of my 10 gallon. I'll post new pics. soon on this forum. As for advice....just ask...I'll try and help. :D

Nope, No protein skimmer. I feel the tank is doing fine without one. I got the filter at a LFS. :D

Around here they're not hard to come by..... I guess your area is different. I'm sure there are other HOB's you can use that will do the job. :D

They are all basically the same. All they are is a plastic box with a pump that sucks water into it then there is a filter pad that has carbon in it and the water flows threw that then into your aquarium. nothin to um. Some have a biowheel but they have no use in a sw aquariums.:D

Also If it were me I would skip the hot filter and by a cheap cpr bakpak skimmer for like $80 of ---- and get a maxijet powerhead and it will be 50x better then a hot filter, the water will be a heck of a lot more clear, and your corals will be a lot happier and you can notice the differance to if you run a hot filter then switch to a skimmer.:D
