It took 1.8 million pounds of sea salt to make the Ocean Voyager exhibit as salty as the ocean.
The 6.3 million gallons of water in Ocean Voyager can be filtered in 60 minutes.
The pipes that filter the water in the Ocean Voyager exhibit stretch 61 miles, or the length of I-285 around Atlanta.

Google the Churaumi Aquarium in Okinawa, Japan.
They suck the water right out of the ocean and they use real sun light. The aquarium simulates the ocean so well the corals even mass spawn then the eggs are pumped back in the ocean...
They have the worlds biggest viewing window something like 26ft high by 75ft long by 3ft thick!!!

they said that if they didnt' take the 2 whales that they would of eaten them... so the aqua took them....

The one good thing about having family in the Atlanta area is being able to go to the Aquarium. Try standing in line on holidays and you will never go back. Plan a mid week trip.

I went home last year for Christmas and my family and I were going to go see the Aquarium until we heard on the news that the lines between displays were extremly long and took about 1hr. Granted that was christmas I'm sure its not that bad normally.

I went to the GA last year, so here's some pics I took of OV.
We went on the behind the scenes tour so the first pic is at the top of Ocean Voyager. This thing is HUGE! The top of the reef is just as impressing.

we went last year ,got a package deal over net . hotel was walking distance from the aquarium ,package included ticket so you don't have to stand in line . we found out to go early in morning or go 3 to 4 hours before closing, not as long of a wait.plus we stayed in there 4.5 hours,I loved it !!!!!

Didn't the GA Aquarium have both of those massive whale sharks to die on them? I thought I remembered hearing there was a big controversy about that recently.

I know they've had at least one die, but I think they lost another one as well. They were not the only two they've ever had though, they've always had a few. Their habitat is big, but IMO not big enough for 3-5 of these things, 1 or 2 maybe. The GA is not the first aquarium to keep them though.
