Hey, what gph did you get on your spectrapure? I basically have a 72gal reef, and I contain my makeup water in a 15gal aquarium that is always up and running, so collecting water really isn't an issue. I topoff 1gal a day. I was thinking of just going with the 25 gph model. What do you think? I'm also hooking the same unit up to my refriderator/icemaker.
Also, do you have the 4 or 5 stage model? I'm looking a the Plus 2000-AR.

Well, the thing about a timer, is that the RO will be attached directly to the refridgerator for water and icemaker, thus it needs to stay on most of the time for that. When I need tank water, I'll have to switch off the water running to the fridge, and turn on the water running to a bucket or whatever. I expect to collect tank water 1 day out of every wk for regular top off, and then as needed prior to a water change.
I can probably see how a cooking timer works to alert me that its time to check the RO when I'm collecting water. :D
So, do you think that super unit I'm looking at is overkill?? It has an extra membrane in there so that you have a backup--no mistakes in case a membrane exhausts.
Thanks for your help and advise....I am obviously not diy/equiptment inclined....so why do I mod this forum??? I have been asking myself, other mods and admin that for a very long time!
