One of my HOB's came with Bio-Fiber...from what I Heard Bio-Wheels are often times removed from Marine tanks do to excessive nitrate production...could i expect the same problem with my Bio-Fiber? Should I remove it? Note that my tank has approx. 6lbs of liverock at the moment.

What size tank for 6 lbs of live rock? The general rule if you're using it for filtration is 1 to 1.5 lbs/Gallon.
I'm not an expert, but I'd say if you don't have enough live rock, the Bio-Fiber may have pros as well as cons. Better off with rock though, your inverts will have more fun climbing on it.

yes yes i know the general rule...lately been thinking about adding some baserock for possibly a total of 12 lbs or so...but anyways would I do well to rid of the Bio-Fiber now or wait till i have more rock or never?

i saw posts of your tanks, if i remember right. if you still have both hang on back filters, change a filter pad every two weeks, alternating which one you replace. that way you don't mess with your biological filtration that has colonized on your filter floss too much. you end up changing each once monthly. the buildup on these can cause nitrates. hope this helps.
