this mya have more to do with equip. but also cycling so i decided to put it here....
the manufacturer says to wash the bio rings once a month. they also say to rinse the sponge the same.isnt this defeating the purpose of growing helpful bacteria if you are just going to wash them away? should i wash the rings and sponge?????

flameangel, we never washed our bio-balls, I think that would be defeating the purpose, we no longer have ours in though, we use lr and ls to filter our reef, we do rinse the sponge occ. though. Lisa
