bio load

Does adding inverts like crabs and snails,add to the bio load of your tank.Just wandering?

If they eat and create waste - they add to the bioload.
Most people really don't count the clean up crew guys, when figuring out what type and numbers of fish to keep ...... but IMO anything that is alive in the tank should be considered adding to the load of the tank.
Other's will argue this I'm sure , but pretty safe to say that they add a little to the load.

I figure with a cleanup crew, the bioload is minimal. Especially the scavengers because they are reducing the amount of waste by eating uneaten food, fish waste, and detritus. So the way I see, they are getting rid of as much if not more than they are creating.
