Bio wheel on my reef

I've heard that bio-wheels can contribute to nitrates. I'm just curious what evryone here thinks about that. T4AH.

I haven't checked in about a week, but I run a Penguin Dual Bio-Wheel filter for mechanical and some biological filtration and my readings have been at zero since about 3 weeks after I set my tank up.

As long as there is no crap in the bio wheel you should be fine.
