Bio Wheel Stopped

My bio wheel has stopped spinning. Can I just replace it? I didn't know if that would cause some type of shock to my system?
Thanks!

I think you can replace it, but you would also be removing your bio bed. Do you have more than one wheel running? How much LR do you have? The bio wheel might not be that big of a factor in you bio setup. HTH

Is water still coming from the tube above them? If not, just free up the holes wiyh a needle or the like... Some buildup occours periodically. I'm sure you've fiddled with it...Will it spin when you turn it manually?

I've got a good bit of LR. Yes it will will turn if I spin in manually. I'm just concerned that I'll lose all the biological filtration that has built up over the last 10 months.

rroberts,
If you have "a good bit of live rock", you have all the biological filtration you need already IN your tank. More than could ever be on the wheel. ;)
As always my humble two cents,
