bioballs submersed in sump?

Any harm or benefit from putting a lot of bioballs in the bottom of the sump, not just in the wet/dry part? Would they cultivate additional beneficial bacteria? Thanks.

No harm there. They will grow some, not as much as the ones above the water line, but can't hurt, if your going to use them.
