Just finished adding water to my new cube. I have the carbon filter installed and it seems to be restricting the water flow to the bioballs thus restricting the flow to the pump thus leading the pump to suck air for a couple of seconds. Is this normal?
Are the bio balls causing the problem? I would think I will have the same water flow with or without the balls in there? I currently only have water in the tank. Going tomorrow evening for live sand & live rock.
O.K. - removed some of the bioballs and that fixed the problem. Now, I did not buy a heater yet for the tank. What size and type should I purchase. Where do I place the heater, in the first chamber?
Do you leave the carbon filter in the tank?
I have a 50 watt heater that is kept in chamber 3. I do not run the carbon filter that came with it, instead in chamber 3 I run purigen and chemi-pure elite.
O.K. - removed some of the bio balls. Went to LFS this evening. Purchased live sand & live rock. Specifications & pictures to come later. Just installed sand & rock and waiting for the storm to clear.
