Biocube Broken light Question?

I just bought a 29g Biocube from my LFS today and they sold it to me for $100 dollars because the 36 watt 10,000 K Daylight straight pin light pops (breaks) everytime they replace it. I bought the tank knowing that I wanted to switch to a Sunpod when I can aford to buy one. I was wondering if the problem could be the Balast, and if I replaced that would let the top work for now? Any ideas would be a great help!
thanks!

either a ballast or wiring problem.
try switching the ballast for the actinic and put it on the plug for the 10k light.
if it stays lit, then its the ballast.

Thanks, I will try as soon as I get off work. I hope it is not a wiring problem seems like that would be hard to fix. (well for me)

It will be a moot point someday when I can aford to by the Sunpod. Probably after Christmas. I was hoping to get the cycle going for the next 4 to 6 weeks on the stock hood and lights. Not sure how much the lights come into play with only the clean-up crew toward the end..? Any idea??

thanks for the tips! Even better I went home and took the hood apart and it was a wire pooled out. Fixed and it all works great!!
