biospheres or maracyn2?

first off i know this goes in the disease section. im sorry but i need a rather quick reply and those dont seem to happen in that section. im going to go out early tomorrow to get meds for my royal gramma. his fin is looking ratty and hes growing something that looks whiteish on the base of his fin. should i buy maracyn or try the biospheres? sorry its in the wrong forum again.

I have tried biosphere beads and can't say one way or the other. The time I tried it the fish was to far gone to give it a fair test. But from what I read about it the thing should work if used early enough. Made by Mardell who makes the Maracyn products also but the beads do not discolor the water as Maracyn does.

i appreciatte the reply but its a little late. while now that i read your post i think it is early enough to use the beads i have already added the maracyn. i just decided to go with something trusted. but the fact that you told me maracyn colored the water helps. cause i was looking at my yellow water and was curios. i have a problem though. my tank is 37 gallons and i have 20lbs of LR and about 2 inches of sand. i never measured the water when i filled it. i guessed at about 30 gallons of water and used a tablet and a half. is this high low or about accurate? any ideas?
