biting clown

i was wonderin if anyone knows why a clown would bite when you feed him? my maroon clownfish, bully, is my goofy fish and he just tried to take a chunk outta my finger! guess i taste good

i guess thats it lol he's started "cleaning" an area & will push anything outta it. well, besides our two clarkii clowns
and my dad
was just wondering if bully is the only clown to bite

do you have all 3 in the same tank? that usually doesnt end well for most people. any will try to bite if you enter their territory and they arent afraid of you. mine bit my net when i took him out and transplanted into a 55g. held on to the net for 5 minutes like a pitbull lol.

My perc clown female attacks me every single time I put my hand in the tank. Makes any tank maintenance a bear. That's in my 110 gal. In my 12 gal nano, the female fire clown bites me every time also. I inherited her when I bought the tank--she has a long history of "owner abuse". Have seriously thought about trading these fish in because of the biting.

yes we know mixing the clown species doesnt usually go well, but before we did it we ask on this site and were told that it would be fine, but besides diggin together they ignore each other. our clarkii are bout three inches and bully around 1 1/2 to 2, so he doesnt bother them, even during feeding time.
he's not that territorial bout the water around his area, just the sand. he wants nothing but him in his sand area, and apparently the top of the water where i barely but finger tips in to get the flakes in

Yep I get whacked by my B&W ocellaris all the time. Ususally when im cleaning the glass. He takes a bite out of the back of my hand. Im glad hes little but it still pinches.
