I have had my tank for about 2 months now and this black algae stuff has taken over the entire tank. Its covered the entire bottom, all the sides of the tank, all of my live rock, and has even formed over a dead fish floating at the bottom. Its disgusting. HOw do i get rid of this junk????

try to do a water change maybe 15%-20% and suck out as much of the algae as possible. also why was the dead fish left in the tank? coulndnt get to it? thats only helping the algae as a food source

I don't know what sort of equipment you are using but are you using tap water for your tank top-ups? That can also contribute to algae growing. If you are, I'd suggest using reverse osmosis water. Also, since the tank is only 2 months old, it could be a really bad diatom bloom (brownish algae). Check around like nss11110 suggested for dead fish, chunks of food left under rocks, anything like that. We would have to have more information on your tank such as size, filter, fish stock, inverts, that sort of thing.
