I recently (4 weeks ago) added 3 black and gold chromis to my 72 gallon tank for color. When I received them, one was partially black from what I assumed was stress. Over the past month, he has not regained color and actually one of the other chromis has become similarly blackened. All other tank inhabitants appear fine. Any thoughts???

Sometimes these fish loose their brillence in captivity. This may be a natural response for them to blend in better with the tank environment, which, no matter how beautiful, will never replicate the living reef. Maintain good diet with lots of variety, and, perhaps, add vitimin supplement to the diet. Too, consider your lighting. Some marine lighting can greatly enhance the natural colors of marine fish [or dampen it]. Also, these are shoal fish, so they need to be kept that way to acheive maximum health and contentment
