I wouldn't think so, if the tank is big enough, i know of some guys who house 2 dif clowns in same tank. Also, im not sure what else you've got in there but watch it with those nano's, they max out the bioload quick! Girlfriend has a 10 gal with a small half black, true perc, cleaner shrimp, 2 hermits and snails and she's just about maxed.

I would try it......True percs and ocellarius are known to pair up. No difference outside of color between the black and the orange ocellarius. Just be ready to seperate but that is advice given to anybody who tries to pair clowns up.

ehhh i dunno seems very risky. my LFS is selling the black clowns for $50. my perc goes after my hand when I have to do tank maintanence, id hate to see what would happen if there was another clown in there...a $50 dollar fish at that. can true percs really pair up with black clowns?????? :notsure:

True percs can pair up with ocellarius. Whether you add an ocellarius or another true perc you run the chance of them fighting. $50 is a lot of money to take a chance on but it's up to you.
If you were to take that chance be prepared to seperate them......If I was to add it to my tank I would do this, FIRST.
-Feed the tank
-Change the whole landscaping (even move the powerheads around).
***** If you can do this with the original clown out of the tank the better******
-Add the new clown.
********If you were able to remove the original clown, I would leave the new clown in there for about 2 hrs to kind of settle in. Then I would turn off the lights (Darken the tank as close to night time as possible) and add the original clown back in the tank.****** Remember if you move the original clown out and don't have a QT tank and decide to put him in a bucket or container, use an airstone w/pump.
People might not agree but true percs and ocellarius are known to pair up. Now any other clown fish added and there is a very SLIM chance of there being peace in the tank. I've never paired up diff types of clowns (I have a pair of black and white ocellarius and had NO problems adding the smaller male, they paired up instantly) but I've kept them peacefully in a 45 gallon a while back.

thanks alot. I really dont feel comfortable taking the risk. I mean Im not ready to drop 50$ on a clown that might get destroyed. my perc is EXTREMELY teritorial. thanks for the advice though. i just cant compromise my reef!
