I bought a Black Edge Eel about 3 weeks ago and just wondered if anyone can tell me some info on it. Like how large they get? I have found that he is very dosel (sp) and doesn't really do much. The shop where I got him said a lady had returned him after having him in her tank for almost two years. He is about 15" and close to 3" in diameter. I have been feeding him hole shrimp, scalops, some silversides (he will eat a package of silversides in 2 meals). I have looked for info on them only it seems that everyone is talking only about snowflakes.
Thanks for the info.

Like most eels, the black edged morayis very hardy. They reside in the western Atlantic. They will eat most meaty foods such as scallops, shrimp, krill, squid, etc. They need to have a secure tank lid, as they are escape artists. Lots of rockwork and hiding spaces will be greatly appreciated by the eel. I would say at least a 55g, preferably a little more would be a good tank size. They max out around 3'. Bo
