Unless you catch a sale, you'd get better deals after Christmas.

Agreed, I would wait until after Xmas to do your big ticket shopping unless you find a one day deal that is to hard to pass up.
Many folks are waiting now days over the last few christmas seasons. They are learning that they may not even have a job after Xmas.

my wife and i don't get much for each other for christmas...instead the day after we go out and buy things because its 50-75 % off. and all the line are mostly returns...

i work at bestbuy and the company is doing very little after x-mas, the big sales were on friday.
we had 65 inch plasmas fgtv hgtv etc for 5k out the door, also sokme smaller 1's like a 30 inch for like 450

There are no margins on 32" tv's... at least any good ones. Chances on your getting some rocking deal on a 32 is slim to none unless it's a piece of garbage loss leader.
