Black Live Rock

Some of my LR is turning black and growing black weeds on it. Is it dead? should I get rid of it? Can it be cured. My tank is 2 yrs old and all of my levels are good.
Any help would be great

Don't get rid of it. If the black stuff bothers you,you could clean it off in the water you take out of your tank on your next water change.Then put it back in.Or try to recure it by putting it in a tank with a filter and no lights for a month or so. Then put it back. STEVE
