Black perc's pairing?

I've watched clowns pairs up before, the female is the aggressor and the male shy's away to show his submissiveness. One of my black perc's is suddenly showing ragged fins and missing a piece on his fin also. Is this also part of it? From the looks of it, she's really showing him who's boss...

how long have they been together? It could be her aggresiveness, or it could be that she wont accept him as a mate...
maybe its another tank mate? who knows!
can you tell us more about thier 'relationship' lol
