I got some used rock today and when I finished rinsing it all off I found this at the bottom of the bucket - its alive and its feisty! But I have no clue what it is....... The dime is to help show size.

Is it a good thing to have in tank or something to get rid of? I have it in a "Isolation" pail at the moment and seems to be doing ok, I wanted to find out what it was before putting him in my tanks.
Thanks again for the ID and assistance, I love this board

I just went and looked it up on Wiki and found this: It sounds safe enough for a tank but would rather hear from someone here if its a keeper or goer.

It's a Nemertean (Ribbonworm). If you're planning on a DSB I would suggest removing it. It's not going to harm anything larger than a Copepod and it will consume trapped detritus but it would definately reduce the diversity in a sand bed. They have very long tongues that can eat larval stage anumals in live rock as well but, nothing very large.

Thanks again guys
The little guy got a reprieve and is in one of my tanks now
I was getting worried that it wouldn't make it but once he hit the bottom of the tank he uncurled and started scooting around so I guess its no worse for wear.
Thanks again,
