black snail/slug?

I noticed this black snail/slug that crawled off a polyp frag I picked up today. I grabbed it before it could get far and put it in a separate container just in case it's bad.
It's all black, about a 1/4" in size, doesn't really seem to have a shell.
I don't think a picture would do much good because there isn't anything to really identify.
Any ideas?

Do a search for Stomatella snail. If that's what it is ... harmless and great diatom munchers.

Finall mine decided to make an appearance. He got big! He is like 3" long now. Not only that, but I have a smaller one about 1" long roaming around. I am sure they will love the 125g when they get moved over!
Anyway, I took a quick snap shot so you could compare. Hope this helps.

Just so you know, if it's the same, it's an elephant snail. They are harmless in reef tanks, unless you have unsecured frag plugs (they tend to knock them over)
. Good scavenger to have around.
