Black Spot on Yellow Tang

I have a 75 gallon fish only tank without liverock in which my yellow tank seems to be infected with black spot. The dark spots are easily seen and I've been through plenty of ick outbreaks to know what I'm looking for. But how do I go about treating this disease. The Yellow Tang has had these spots for approximately 3-4 weeks and I know that this represents my fault as an aquarist so I apologize for not taking immediate action. But I want to fix him up because he doesn't look to good. I have a fully cycled 40 gallon quarantine tank in which he could be placed but my question is does black spot live in the tank as does white spot. By taking him out and treating him, will the disease die off in the tank. Other inhabitants inclue a Powder Blue Tang, Orange-Shoulder Tang, Maculosus Angelfish, and a Picasso Trigger. As of now and ever since the Yellow came down with these spots, no signs of black spot has been seen on any of the other fish. How do I go about treating the fish? Hyposalinity? I can't say that I'm too enthusiatic about adding copper to the system so any alternatives would be greatly appreciated. I've also read about freshwater dips, would these work in this situation? Thanx for your help.

Actually, neither hypo or copper is the treatment for black spot. Formalin bathes are used.
I would move the tang to your QT, then give the tang a formalin bath every other day for 5 days, 45mins. You will need to place the tang in a deadicated bucked/containrer of water from the QT with an airstone, then, after each treatment, throw the water away. Keep the fish in the QT for a wk after treatment is complete to ensure effectiveness.
If you haven't seen this on the other fish, you can just "wait and see" with them, but you may end up needing to treat all fish in this manner.
Which fish was your last addition to the tank?
