hello, today i noticed black spots on my moms clowns in her tank. theres about 6 on one and 2-3 on the other. they dont appear to be "on" the fish, but more like the fishes on color.. my mom said she just noticed them the other day. anyone know what it is, its causes, or treatments.

Take a look at this thread and see if this is what is going on with your fish:

I think one of my tomato clowns has this same problem. It has had smal black spots (8-12) for at least 6 months now. I have posted this problem before but with minimal response. I dont think it is a parasite because it is not on any of my other fish. Also, his fins appear "thinner" in certain spots, it looks like they've been biten from far away (but they havn't), just little or no color in places to give this illusion. Ill try to post a pic when I can, unfortunately no access to camera right now.

Boom, did you read thru the link I posted. This is hyper-melaninism. Basically, just darkened skin spots. It could be a reaction to the fish's contact with corals/anemone.

Beth, yes I read it. I was just looking for some confirmation........thank you. I will also try your food remedy since it sounds fantastic.
