Black Stingy Stuff Taking Over ... Please Help

Hi,
We have a 46 gallon live rock, coral and fish tank that has been running for 3 months now.
We are having a problem with this black stringy stuff taking over our live sand and live rock. Does anyone know what it is and how to control it?

jimmy sorry but you are wrong if he is talking about the film he has over the sand.
IMO it has to be cyano.

If im not mistaken its just algae, you are prob not getting enough circulation in that area. Have you tried picking up a goby or something that will move / clean your sand?

UMMMMM as much as I hate to be called out by meowzers son I have to admit- Tunnel vision is a B%$^#... the strings are coming off the sandbed-My nicknames are slightly and mildly(retarded) at times hes right the film is cyanobacteria- red slime algae. J/K about the calling out thing nissan.
