Black stuff on clown?

I've tried to search but didn't find anything to help.
all info ya'll need should be in sig. (tested water and all was great)
The smaller clown (the male, 1yr in tank) has something wrong with it, I think
It breaths, swims, acts and eats as normal.
The second black line by its head looks smeared. (clowns are orange, then thin black line, then white, then thin black line and more orange.) Instead of streight lines they look jagged.
I noticed this last night. No sign of it on the other clown. It's mainly on the top of the fish, but some along the bottom by the fins. the black smears and it sold in color. It's only on the first section of the fish, no where else that I see.
Any ideas? I've haven't see this before, if the fish is sick what can I do to make him better?
Thanks alot. I hate sick fish.

Is the fish a juvenile, or fairly young? At this point, this isn't something I would be concerned with. Keep an eye out and post back if you notice any other irregular symptoms.
How long have you had the fish?

I've had the fish for a year now (got it last jan.) It was tank raised and small when we got it, but I don't know how old.
Thanks, I'll keep an eye on him.
At what point does a fish become a juvenile? are there any signs to look for? Around labor day of 2002 the other clown (the female, 1 1/2yrs in tank) looked dirty around the top fin (cloudy blackness), but it went away. I was told on here it was most likely the fish maturing.
Is this the same thing with the smaller fish? it looks diff. and it on a diff. part of the body.
Thanks!
(love hearing not to worry)
