Black weeds

I have a 37 gal reef thak. I am getting this stuff that looks like grass but it is black. Please help. it is very ugly

I figured it was some kind of algae, Sundog's advice sounds good. Have your water thorouly tested at your lfs.Bring him a sample of the algae. STEVE
