Blackish spots on clown?

I have a clownfish that seems to be very healthy but he has a few blackish/dark orange spots on him. I thought it could be stings at first but he doesn't really seem to go near the stinging corals. Is there a disease I should belooking out for? All water parameters are good and he is eating like a pig.

From what I can tell the spots don't seem to be a growth of any kind and do not seem to be 3-D at all. He is a bout 2 inches long, could he be maturing into a darker color? He was also getting beat up by another fish and lost some scales. Maybe the scales growing back are darker?

i hope its one of those things. I can't seem to find a disease remotly like this so it must be stings or darkening with age/regrowth. Anyone else? Thanks you connor- you have made me feel much better!

Can you tell me more about black ich? I cant really seem to find much about it on the web. What kind of treatments and stuff? I'll be out of town posibbly tomorrow and Sunday so I'll have my boyfriend check on him and take any necessary actions. He is the only fish in the tank, but could possibly move him to my BFs tank and move the gramma out of his if he needs to be treated since his has very little in it right now. Not really in a situation to set up a quarantine tank, my LFS may also be able to help.

from what ive read, on posts on swf, its not as bad as regular white ich and you can treat it the same way. i think it can turn into the white ich if untreated. you can try doing it by rapid hyposalinity, which i think will cure it quickly, or you can try medicating the fish which can take 3 weeks plus. i medicated the fish. first i qt'ed the 2 clowns in a regular 10 gallon. i put 5 gallons of tank water in with the fish, and 5 gallons of fresh saltwater, with the specific gravity lowered. the overall specific gravity was 1.019 (22ppt), and i raised the overall temperature in the tank to about 86-87 degrees. lfs guy said thats what to do, so i did it. ive never treated ich before so i took his advice, and i didnt want to do the hypo cause i was afraid of killing the fish. anyway, the only thing i had in the tank with the fish was a big rock to give the fish a place to hide so they wouldnt get so streesed out. i set up my emperor 330, with no filter pad, carbon, or biowheel, just for flow, and a heater. medicated the fish every 3 days, hardly fed them anything (cause i didnt have any filtration and didnt want my ammonia to get too high)did regular top offs with fresh water, and today, three weeks later, i put them back into my dt.
no more black spots!
