if i want to use a powerheader, skimmer, and heater from a coppered tank and put them into a reef tank will bleaching them kill the copper or will they even have absorbed any copper to begin with? are there any other ways to get copper out?

Just a thought:
If you have an empty tank you could run them in there and use a copper test kit.

Bleach is fine to clean algea but for copper you need to use alot of carbon or use poly-bio-marine. just ask your lfs or check with an experirnced person here

Not likely that copper will be retained on equiptment pieces. But, as suggested, test it by leaving the equiptment in a container of salt water then test for copper.

To explicitly answer your question, NO, bleach will not get rid of copper. Bleach will only help remove organic things, not metals and minerals. It is unlikely that the copper stayed in the glass and plastic that your equipment is made out of anyway. If you do have it, they make heavy metal remover, it's like adding carbon, only the beads are specifically for removing copper and other metals.
