Bleached?

Put it in better light, feed it frozen food often (silver sides if large). It will proboly take a while. Tell me if it works please.

It was a light orange with small yellow specks(not a disease), but now it's opaque whitish color with yellow specks. It's foot is still orange.

What type of anemone is it? Do you think you could have purchased a dyed anemone? I've heard (been told by a few people) that yellow is an unatural color for anemones and to be carful when purchasing. Off yellow is okay, but bananna yellow should throw up some red flags.
If it was a certain color, then turned opaque white it is under inadequate lights, and once placed under proper lighting it will regain its zooantha and color.

Not to hijack this thread, but what would be a ballpark estimate of wattage that an anemone could live under?

Wattage doesn't really matter much. Watts is just a measure of how much energy is going into the lights, it is not a measure of the output. PAR is what you should be looking at. I know, more information than you probably care for:)
A GENERAL RULE of thumb is 5 watts per gallon.

To answer the first question, yes it is possible to get an anemone to re-gain its supply of Zooxanthellea. However it significantly hurts its chances of survival if somthing should go wrong as it is already in a sense sick. So, pristine water conditions ample lighting is a must for a recovering anem, and supplimental feedings will help. Nothing larger than its mouth every other day or so. Silver sides, clam, shrimp, mysis or any other raw fish. Stay away from the oily types salmon, tuna etc... Hope this helps...
