Blocking the light?

:notsure: I have a 30 gallon tank and I just bought a 130w pc light. We'll I was wondering if anyones knows if I should put the light on the tank itself or the legs it came with? Also if anyones knows if a glass top would block the light, or if thats a good idea. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!........Thanks!

Ive used glass tops and never had a problem. They might shade just a very little amount of light

Use the glass top so your light doesn't happen to fall in to your tank.

using the glass top is a personal decision.....i prefer to keep mine off to help with the water temp...yeah a little more evaporation but to me well worth not having major temp probs.....i use the legs....if you use the glass top i would think you should just lay it on the glass...but then again watch for potential temp probs

Glass tops trap in the heat so make sure the tank doesn't get too hot. They also block a significant amount of light so I would recommend against using it. Go with the legs and no glass top instead.
