I am currently in the 3rd week of my cycling process. I currently have 2 yellow tailed damsels, and I was wondering if it would be safe to a blood shrimp to the tank.

It would depend on where you are in your cycle. My Nitrite levels were at .5 (on the way down) when I got impatient and added my shrimp and he is doing fine. However, I am sure that it would be much better for the shrimp if your tank was fully cycled.

Wait until the cycle is complete. Plus the blood shrimp will hide during the day. You might see him once in a while to feed, but mostly will be seen at night. This is what kept me from keeping one. But DEFINATELY wait until the cycle is complete. HTH--Bob

Another point to the bood shrimp is that they are expensive here in my area. My lfs sells Peppermints for 4 to 6 bucks, Pacific for 15 and Bloods for 30. I bought one blood and put it in my 65 forgetting that I had a spotted Hawk living there 2 days later Hawk was fat and happy and I was out the 20 some bucks it cost me then.
