Blue Atlantic Starfish...

Everyone,
Last Friday I got a Blue Atlantic Starfish from Jeff's Exotic Fish. It's pretty neat looking and really likes to move around. I noticed it on the glass and then it moved to the live rock (which is pretty neat because my Linkas was always on the glass). However, yesterday I noticed that is was missing some skin on one leg and at the tip of another leg was eaten away a little. What could be causing this?
Tank Inhabitants:
Blonde Naso Tang, Blue Headed Wrasse, Clarki Clown, 2 Emerald Crabs, 1 Decorator Crab, 3 Sally Light Foot Crabs, Scralet Hermits, Blue-Legged Hermits, 2 Cleaner Shrimp.
I thought that it might be the Wrasse but I saw last night a rather large Red Hermit nibbling on the starfish. I don't know if he was actually the one that was eating the starfish or whether he was merely eating some algae or such off the top... Help...

I floated the bag for 15 minutes to acclimate temp. Then I started to add 1 cup of my water every 10 minutes or so for an hour. Then, I strained the water into another bowl, took out the starfish and placed him on a piece of LR. Total Acclimation Time: Circa 1hr to 75min...

that might be the problem....stars are very difficult to acclimate...check out mr.tangs how to acclimate..i think there is something in their about stars. They need typically at least 3 hours..blue linkia stars might need more like 24 hours of dripping. if they are not properly acclimate they will start to disentegrate and die.

A) Can I reverse this somehow? Can I pull him out? He's only been in since Friday at about 6:00pm...
B) How fast do starfish heal? Maybe he'll pull through...

Your right.... he melted away... he basically disintegrated...
Next Question: The Blue Atlantic Star was cool... I want to try another. Obviously I didn'tknow about the drip method. Please explain a bit more. Here are my questions:
1) You turn off the lights in the tank and float the bag. Then where do you place the bag? I guess maybe I could mount an Eye Hook on the inside of the canopy and hang the bag on the I-Hook... Then place a small bucket of water on top of the tank with a drip system setup so that it constantly drips into the bag. Does this sound right?
2) Let's assume 24hrs go by and now I have this rather large bag of water with a starfish in it. I know you don't want to expose the starfish to air but you also don't want to expose the display tank to the water. How do you accomplish this? You undoubtably must expose the star to air...
