Blue background looks black... why?

Hey everyone..
I just got a 90 gal tank...
I put on a blue background, although it looks black. I'm thinking that it's a lighting issue?
I currently have a custom canopy, with 2 actinic blues at the back, 2 whites in the middle, and 2 more that are burnt in the front. ( I will replace this wkend).
What would be the best way to place the lights, and what should I buy to replace the front 2?
I really want the blue background to show more...
Thanks!

Maybe run 2 daylight whites in the back to bring out the blue of the background.
2 actinic blues in the middle
2 50/50 up front
I dunno - have to experiment with the bulb placement until they look good to you, and how this will affect any inverts growing under the lighting.

I agree with broomer... experiment with them. A lot of it will depend on how you have things setup in your custom canopy. Maybe post a pic of your canopy and I could help you out a bit more.
Sounds like things are coming along nicely... can't wait to see how it develops for ya.
