Why does this sight suggest this:
Size: 1-2 inches
Care Level: Moderate
Temperament: Peaceful
Diet: Pellet, Flake, Greens
Origin: Indian Ocean
Acclimation Time: 4+ hours
Minimum Tank Size: 40 gallons
Coral Safe: Yes
Invertebrate Safe: Yes
if the minimum tank size is 40 gallons?
I have a 65 gallon and a small blue hippo and he seems to be fine?
You wouldnt think this sight would sell a fish that is meant to be in a larger tank. I know that they need open water to fell comfortable but???????

First and formost, this site wants to sell fish...period.
Do you think Blue Hippos stay small forever ?
Mine is nearly 7 inches.....

How long does it take a fish like a hippo to go from 1-2" to 7"? Are they like many fish and size according to their surroundings?? In nature, are they roamers or do they tend to stay tight to structure???

I have had mine for over 5 years ( always in a six foot tank ) but it grew quicker when it was younger.....its always on the move, cruising the whole tank and mostly out in the open area away from the rock work.

It is important to remember, as Dogstar points out, they are trying to sell fish.
Now not being a card carrying member of the tang police, I would say that a smaller tank WITHOUT A BUNCH OF OTHER FISH is a good place to get these tiny hippo tangs established before throwing them into a tank with much larger fish. But there is no way they would be able to stay in that system long term, nor would I put them in with a lot of other fish.

I put a small Blue Hippo in a 55g for a year, then it went into a 180g.
It does grow quick within the first year or so, after that?.
Smaller tank ok at first, but plan for a larger one or trade the fish.
